Knowledge Management
Managing institutional knowledge accumulated throughout the life cycle of a project or product life cycle involves identifying, capturing, and disseminating all of the related information, much of which resides in the heads and minds of key employees.
All too often, companies fail to capture and disseminate what their people know, letting this valuable corporate asset fade. The challenge lies in defining what knowledge is to be managed, how to prioritize it, understanding what aspects of it are important to whom, and how to make it easily accessible.
While this can be an organization-wide issue, it becomes particularly important in managing complex technical or scientific undertakings such as new product, hi-tech, or drug development projects.
At ECG, we use best practices from the Issues Management Council to help our client companies identify key organizational information, messages, and issues.
In addition, we have developed the unique ECG Message Matrix methodology to help identify, capture, and redistribute critical organizational knowledge.
